Bradford Guide
Bradford is a large northern city with a long, documented, and a population of nearly 300,000 people.
Many buildings and monuments important, including mills and factories, and one of the two World Heritage sites in Yorkshire, make the city first choice of many history-seekers and City never fails to reward the effort! Bradford is also home to the most visited museum outside London.
Cultural life in Bradford, and award winning restaurants, make the city an ideal destination for a relaxing night or weekend, but the city also has a vibrant nightlife and music for those seeking a little fun more adventurous!
Like many other areas in the region, millions of pounds are coming for regeneration and the city offers an exciting feeling come and go.
History
Bradford was granted city status in the nineteenth century, but its history is documented since the thirteenth century. Bradford formed an important manufacturing area during the industrial revolution, but has suffered the collapse of manufacturing industry during the twentieth century. There were no signs of improvement in the last twenty years, but the unemployment rate remains below the national average.
The National Media Museum is the most visited museum outside London, explores the evolution of photography, film and television, and cinema's biggest flat screen around the world.
The Industrial Museum is based on an eighteenth century mill, and has been exploring the past of making the region.
The nineteenth century village of Saltaire was built to contain local workforce of the plant, and is one of only two World Heritage sites in Yorkshire.
Galleries
Bradford has numerous galleries including Cartwright Hall consists of four separate galleries, with works of British art of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, and a selection of South Asian arts and crafts.
Salts Mill is a shopping complex and the Arts, housed in a Victorian mill in the village of Saltaire. There are four galleries in the complex, including David Hockney Gallery, a gallery exploration heritage of the region and a third showing costumes and masks of opera.
The Manor House in Ilkley, and the Center for the Arts, hosted Bingley a series of temporary exhibitions.
Theaters
The Alhambra Theatre is Bradford's only major theater level and located in an imposing Victorian building. The theater regularly hosts tours for large-scale productions including games and the West End shows by the Royal Shakespeare Company.
The Alhambra Studio is located next door and small-scale implementation phase.
Bradford Theatre-in-the-Mill "is located next to campus, and offers small-scale production and technical theater workshops.
Theaters specializing in musicals and concerts include St George's Hall, Tamsin Little Music Centre and the Little Priestley.
Restaurants
Among the award-winning restaurants is Weaver, Bradford. The restaurant is highly recommended by the Good Food Guide, AA, Michelin and hardens, and serves traditional British cuisine and contemporary.
Bradford Curry 'Mile is home to more than twenty Indian and Asian influenced restaurants, including Kashmir is widely regarded as the best by customers, and Mumtaz Paan House is recommended by Good Food Guide. Kipling's Indian restaurant won the best prize in Britain by a vote of users Internet.
Thai Chinese Thai and Chinese cuisine in an atmosphere of luxury and can accommodate 100.
Bar
CAMRA recommended pubs in the Bradford City, and called out 'Pub of the Year "in 2006. The other contenders were Haigy and cockfights.
Brewery Tap is a rock publication of this act live two or three times a week, offering free jukebox and offers a variety of beverages. Bradford instead of the oldest musical also includes a billiard room and a large garden.
Fubar is a cocktail bar and tapas restaurant, which offers a wide selection of cocktails, wines, spirits and beers, with a stylish and elegant decoration that belie its low prices.
The Hotel Sol is one of the most popular gay bars in Bradford, and has regular DJs, acts and pub drag competitions. The living room, pool and games room, beer garden and rooms to rent the ground removed.
Nightlife
River is rock club and live music, one of many Bradford nightclubs, open three nights a week and present a selection of 80's indie and punk and Gothic. The Admission is free before 9:30 pm and the drinks are cheap.
Managed by the owner of Sun Life Club Hotel is a popular gay club, which offers the best of classic songs and cheesy pop. "Admission is free on Thursdays, and a variety DJ on Fridays.
Lingard is a house, garage, speed and complexity, which includes a bar pre-club, disco and disco Subterranea Ascension. Some nights the club to the complex twice a week.
The apple of love is another complex, which includes a cafeteria, a bar, a nightclub and an art exhibition space. The club specializes in non-traditional music, and features live music.
Shopping
Kirkgate Shopping Centre has 65 shops and a large market on the floor. There are 550 parking spaces, and the center is easily accessible in the center. It is open every day.
The Oastler mall is a market in the city center, with 80 stalls and shops and trade of fresh fish, meat, fruits and vegetables. There are also cafes and markets. St James Wholesale Market is located outside the city center and is the perfect place to find exotic food.
Salts Mill is a Victorian mill, now a shopping and arts development. The development is home to many shops, unusual food stores, coffee, food and four art galleries.
Sports
Richard Dunn Sports Centre is the largest entertainment centers in the city forty, and includes a 25 meter pool and leisure pool activities for children, a gym and a sauna, solarium and squash courts. The center is open daily.
The campus has an impressive array of sports facilities in three sites. The Sports Centre houses most of the facilities, Laisteridge Lane site is home to squash, football and hockey courts / pitches, and the Woodhall Sports Ground provides sites for football, rugby and cricket.
There are forty golf course in Bradford, including Queensbury Golf Club, an 18-hole course with a lounge and a bar in the hotel.
There is also a branch of the Hollywood Bowl in the city, including 24 bowling lanes. About the Author
